Habsolutely Me

I have a diploma in Broadcast Journalism from Seneca College and a post-graduate diploma in Sports Journalism from Centennial College.

I have an extensive background in hockey as I have been playing since the age of 12. I have played houseleague, select, rep, high school, and men’s college hockey. I was drafted to the Burlington Barracudas of the Canadian Women’s Hockey League (CWHL) in August 2011, but got cut from the team after training camp. I am currently playing competitive ball hockey in the Ottawa-Vanier Women’s Ball Hockey League and summer hockey in the open division of the Minto Ice Hockey League.

Tennis is another sport I love and have been playing for a long time. I have been playing recreational tennis for about 10 years. I also played on my high school team and represented my tennis club in a tournament in which I placed second in the town.

My ultimate goal was to be become a sports reporter on TV but recently I’ve been re thinking that. I still want a career in sports but am now looking at media/public relations, event promotions or marketing positions.

Health and nutrition are very important to me and I enjoy researching both subjects and spreading my knowledge to others. I would love to write for a fitness or health magazine in the future and also become a personal trainer on the side. I may even decide to go back to school for a fitness and health promotions program in college, or a kiniseology program at university.

I have a wonderful fiance who is extremely supportive of my hockey career and life goals. We will be getting married September 2012.

Oh, last but not least, I bleed Bleu, Blanc, Rouge.

Go Habs Go
